Police investigate suspicious death GO#20-144699

Update: On December 8 at approximately 3:10 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint at an address in the 5500 block of Morris Street in Halifax. Officers located two injured men inside. Police officers administered first aid prior to the arrival of EHS. 

Both men were transported to hospital. One 61-year-old man has died as a result of his injuries. The second 71-year-old man suffered serious injuries and is receiving medical treatment.   

Morris Street has been re-opened to traffic. Members from our Forensic Unit as well as Integrated Major Crime remain on scene. We are not looking for any suspects at this time. A further update will be provided when available.

Police remain on the scene of a weapons call in Halifax.

Morris Street between Queen and Birmingham streets remains closed until further notice for investigation. We ask the public to avoid the area.
