At 2:30 p.m. on March 9, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of threat to use a firearm. The Emergency Response Team and patrol officers secured a residence in the 30 block of Vitalia Court, Halifax. Officers arrested four people without incident from the residence.
At 9 p.m. investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at the residence and did seize a firearm, a sawed-off shotgun. Two adults, a 62-year-old man and an 18 year-old man, and a 16-year-old male youth, all from the residence that was searched, are facing firearm related offences. All three males have been released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with Halifax court dates. No one was injured and the investigators are not searching for any other suspects.
