Police investigate two hit & run collisions GO#20-73265 & 20-73266

On June 28 at 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision where a white four door sedan struck a fence attached to a residence in the 1400 block of Henry Street, Halifax. The vehicle then fled north on Henry Street. 

At 1:44 a.m., multiple callers reported a motor vehicle collision where a white Nissan Altima struck a fire hydrant, breaking it off at the base, in the 6000 block of Quinpool Road, Halifax.  The driver fled on foot and had last been seen on Vernon Street.

Multiple patrol officers responded to both scenes and quickly located and the arrested the suspect driver on foot near Shirley and Vernon Streets. Officers were able to confirm the vehicle and driver are responsible for both collisions. No one was injured in either collision.

A 25-year-old man from Halifax will appear in Halifax Court on a later date and is facing the following Criminal charges: Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Refusal, Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Property Damage.
