UPDATE: A man was located and taken to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound in relation to the earlier weapons release.
His injury is not believed to be life threatening and there is no risk to members of the public.
The matter is still under investigation.

On March 24 at 10:35 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gun shots at Windmill Road and Parkstone Road, Dartmouth.
Responding officers located evidence that a shooting did take place.
Investigators from Patrol and the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are on scene. The investigation is in the early stages.
