UPDATE: Police conclude Weapons Complaint investigation
Police have concluded their investigation into the below noted weapons complaint from the earlier release. A weapon was recovered as a result.
A 44-year-old man from Halifax has been charged with one count of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public as well as breaching a weapons prohibition order that was in place. He is in custody and is scheduled to attend Halifax court this morning to face these charges.

On March 15, Halifax Regional Police were on scene at a residence in 5000 block of Gerrish Street in Halifax, regarding a weapons complaint. The incident began when a report was made to police that a man was seen in public with a firearm.
The incident is contained, and the investigation is ongoing. Two men have been arrested in relation to the investigation.
There are no known threats to public safety at this time and police remain on scene conducting an investigation.
