Police investigate weapons complaint GO#21-7652

Halifax Regional Police Patrol and the General Investigative Section are currently on scene for a weapons complaint.

On January 18 at 7:27 p.m., Halifax Regional Police were called to a home in the 0-100 block of Gaston Road in Dartmouth for a weapons complaint. Several witnesses heard what was thought to be gun fire in the area.

Police confirmed that a home and vehicle were damaged as a result of what appears to be gunfire.

Police have Gaston Road blocked to all traffic from the entrance on Portland Street down to MacRae Avenue. The public is asked to seek alternate routes while the matter is being investigated.

There are no reported injuries and there is no ongoing risk to the public. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and further information will be released when available.
