At 4:50 a.m. on March 2, officers responded to a residence on McAlpine Avenue in Halifax. A 19-year-old man was calling the police from inside a residence in the 3000 block of McAlpine Avenue. He reported he had been assaulted and was being held against his will by several males inside the residence. He also advised that one of the suspects had a handgun. He made his way out of the residence to awaiting police members and he was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Contact was made with the occupants of the residence and four people, a man, woman and two male youths, exited the home and are currently in custody for questioning. The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section is continuing the investigation. At this time this does not appear to be a random act, as some of the parties are known to each other.
