Police investigating report of a shooting

The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a report of a shooting that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 7:30 a.m., police received a report of shots fired at the intersection of Cunard Street and Maynard Streets. A witness reported seeing someone in a vehicle fire a number of shots at a pedestrian walking on Maynard Street.  Neither the pedestrian nor the vehicle was located. 

The car is described as a black four-door sedan with the rear window tinted. The pedestrian is described as a black man wearing a reflective traffic vest.

While the investigation is in its preliminary stages, investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5016.
