Police investigating robbery

Investigators assigned to the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 9:03 a.m., officers responded to the Petro Canada gas station at 7015 Bayers Road after two male suspects entered the business, indicated they had weapons and demanded money. They took a quantity of lottery tickets and undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot up Bayers Road. No weapons were seen and no one was physically injured.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his late teens, 5’5”, slim build, with a tattoo on the side of his face. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey hoodie, black baseball hat, red gloves and black sweat pants with stripes. The second suspect is described as a white male in his late teens, 5’6”, slim build, with a tattoo by his left eye. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and a red jacket with a hood.

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6 AT 10:22 P.M. - Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division report that there are currently people in custody for this robbery. Two 17-year-old male youths will appear in Halifax Youth Court on Monday. Together they face a total of 28 charges including robbery and weapons dangerous to public peace.
