Police Investigating Sexual Assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a sexual assault that took place last week in Halifax.

On August 17 at 11 a.m. police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had taken place earlier that week. A 22-year-old woman reported that on August 15 at approximately 5:15 p.m. she was walking in the area of Quinpool Road and Robie Street when she was approached by a man. He began speaking to her and then reached out and inappropriately touched her before fleeing the area. The suspect is described as a middle aged white man, slim build, salt and pepper hair approximately 2-3 inches long and scruffy salt and pepper facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark windbreaker style jacket with a logo on the lapel and a dark coloured hat with “RCMP” in bold letters.
