Police Investigating Shooting Incident

The 24-year-old victim remains in hospital with life threatening injuries. The suspect in the shooting is described as a black man in his 20's, approximately 5'8" and wearing a navy blue hoodie and black pants.

Police Investigating Shooting Incident (7:38 p.m.)

Halifax Regional Police are currently on scene at a shooting incident in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth.

It appears that at approximately 5:20 p.m.  an altercation occurred between several men in a backyard at this location. As a result of this altercation, a 24-year-old man was shot several times. The victim was able to run to an address on Jackson Road in Dartmouth where he was located by police. The victim was transported to the  hospital by EHS with injuries that are considered to be life-threatening.

Patrol officers, and members of the Forensic Identification Section, as well as members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, are still on scene conducting the investigation.
