Police Investigating Stabbing

The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section is investigating a stabbing that occurred earlier today in Dartmouth.

At 11:21 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive. Officers located a 21-year-old man who had been stabbed after he attempted to stop an assault against a 19-year-old woman. Officers learned that up to eight assailants were involved in the original assault against the woman. The stabbing victim was taken to hospital by EHS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Investigators are not receiving cooperation from the victims at this time and do not consider this to be a random incident as the victims and suspects are believed to be known to one another.
