Police lay charges in suspicious circumstance

Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged two youths following an incident in Halifax yesterday morning. 

At approximately 8:39 a.m. on January 26, two white males wearing dark clothing entered the Centennial Building at 1276 South Park Street, yelling, swearing and making reference to getting explosives. Officers searched the area with the assistance of the K-9 and Explosive Disposal Units; however, nothing suspicious was located. At approximately 9:30 a.m., patrol officers located the two suspects in the 6000 block of Coburg Road. The two 17-year-olds, both from Halifax, were arrested without incident.

Two 17-year-old male youths have both been charged with one count each of uttering threats, public mischief and causing a disturbance. One youth has also been charged with breach of an order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and he is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today. The other male is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court on February 2.
