Police have arrested a man and a woman in relation to the robbery of a cab driver earlier today in Halifax.

At 1:45 a.m., a taxi driver contacted police after he was robbed by two passengers on Young Avenue near South Park Street in Halifax. The passengers threatened the driver and told him they were going to beat him if he didn’t give them the keys to the vehicle. The driver jumped out and the suspects drove off with the cab. Shortly after, the taxi was located on Olivet Street in Halifax where the two suspects, a man and a woman, were seen fleeing on foot. The 30-year-old taxi driver was not injured during this incident.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division subsequently executed a warrant at an apartment on Olivet Street and arrested 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman in relation to this robbery. They are currently in custody and no charges have been laid.
