Police looking for suspect in domestic assault

On December 4, at 8:25 p.m. the suspect in this incident was arrested by Halifax Regional Police officers in the same address on Central Ave. in Halifax. He is currently in police custody and will appear in Halifax court on December 5 to face charges of sexual assault, assault, unlawful confinement and uttering death threats.

Police are looking for a suspect in relation to domestic assault that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 7:08 a.m. officers responded to a residence on Central Avenue after receiving a call that a man had assaulted a woman known to him. Information was received that the man left the residence on foot and may be armed with a knife. A number of officers, as well as a K-9 team, attended and tracked the suspect to the Dawn Street area but could not locate him. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by EHS.

The suspect is known to police and officers are attempting to locate and arrest him. Officers are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen him in the Fairview Area this morning. He is described as a 25-year-old black man, 5’7” and 180 lbs. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey hoodie, black short with white stripes, and he wasn’t wearing any footwear when he ran from the scene.
