Police make arrests in robbery

Police are investigating a robbery which occurred yesterday in Dartmouth. 

At approximately 3 p.m., a 23-year-old man went to a building in the 0-100 block of Hastings Drive after making an appointment to have his hair cut. Upon arrival, he was advised by a man and a woman that the service he was looking for wasn’t available and he would have to pay a cancellation fee. When the victim refused, the man produced a knife and ordered the victim to turn over all his money. After giving the suspect his money, the victim fled the building and reported the incident to police. Patrol officers, as well as East Quick Response Units, responded to the scene and arrested the man and woman. Members of the Integrated General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant and located a knife in the building.A 42-year-old Dartmouth man is facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon and robbery. A 19-year-old woman, also from Dartmouth, is facing charges of robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon as well as breaching a probation order. Both will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today.
