Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have arrested a man for a break and enter that occurred in Dartmouth just before Christmas.

On December 19 at 4 p.m., a homeowner returning home from work realized that his residence on Athorpe Drive had been broken into. A review of the video surveillance at the residence showed a suspect breaking into the house at approximately 11:20 a.m. and leaving on foot shortly after. The suspect stole a quantity of wrapped Christmas gifts, along with electronics and collectors coins. On December 23, Halifax Regional Police released a video of the suspect which led to several tips provided by the public on his identity.

Last night, investigators arrested a 36-year-old man without incident at a residence on Ruben Court in Dartmouth. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of break and enter.
