Police release pictures of robbery suspect

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect in a robbery.

On March 12, at 6:07 p.m., a 22-year-old woman waiting for a ride in front of the Bedford Atlantic Superstore was approached by a man who asked for help cashing a cheque. When the woman refused, the suspect forced the victim to walk to an ATM located inside Bedford Place Mall where he made her to reveal her PIN number. The man deposited an empty envelope in the ATM and withdrew a sum of money from the woman’s account before fleeing on foot towards the Bedford Highway. The victim was not physically injured and reported the matter to police on March 23.

Police are releasing pictures of the suspect. He is described as a white man in his thirties with a blond beard and hair, speaking with an accent, possibly from Newfoundland. At the time of the incident, he was wearing all dark clothing and work boots.
