Police request assistance in locating a man with an outstanding warrant

Police are asking the public for assistance in locating Jacob Matthew Lilly who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

At approximately 3:34 a.m. on July 7, officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1500 block of Grafton Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, it was determined that a man had been assaulted with an edged weapon. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. The victim was transported to the hospital.

As a result of the investigation, a Canada-wide warrant was issued today for the arrest of 21-year-old Jacob Matthew Lilly of Halifax. Lilly is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. Police have made all efforts to locate this man and believe he is aware that police are looking to arrest him. 

Lilly is described as 5’8,” 175 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
