On April 5, 2019 at 7:56 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report that a vehicle had been stolen from the 50 block of Caledonia Rd., Dartmouth. The suspect was identified when the initial call was received and this person was being monitored by an ankle bracelet. The location of the suspect and vehicle was able to be determined from this bracelet. The vehicle was located on Eileen Stubbs Ave., Dartmouth. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to stop. Officers did not pursue the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle was located abandoned on Booth St., Dartmouth and K-9 was able to track and locate the suspect a short distance from the vehicle. A 31-year-old woman will face charges of prohibited driving, flight from peace officer, failing to comply with probation order, taking motor vehicle without consent and dangerous operation of a conveyance.
