Police respond to weapons complaint GO#19-81598

On June 11, 2019 at approximately 4 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the 0-100 block of Forbes Street, Halifax, for a call of a woman that had been assaulted. There was information a firearm may have been involved. Police attended and located a woman who had been assaulted by a man known to her. She was taken to the QEII with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was believed to be inside an apartment in a building on Forbes Street. At approximately 9 p.m., police arrested a man for assault and weapons charges. All streets are reopened. The investigation is continuing.
