Halifax Regional Police is seeking the public’s assistance in finding an expensive hearing device that was lost in Dartmouth.

On November 4, police received a report that a 93-year-old man had lost the external component of his hearing implant in the area of 102 Albro Lake Road on July 12. The area was searched at the time, but the device could not be located. As a last resort, the man’s family contacted police to see if the device had been turned in. Given the essential nature of the device, we want to make every effort to try to find it and return it to the owner.

The device is a RONDO 2 audio processor manufactured by Med-El. It is black, oval-shaped, 46.8 mm x 35.8 mm x 12.1 mm (1.8” x 1.4“ x 0.47”) and very lightweight. The device is valued at $10,000.

We ask anyone who may have found the device or has information on its whereabouts to call police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips App.
