Police seek public’s assistance identifying robbery suspect

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a robbery that occurred last month in Halifax.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on November 21, staff from the Needs Convenience Store at 28 St Margaret’s Bay Road called to report that a slim white man, with short dark hair and wearing a beige hunting jacket, entered the store and demanded cash. The man was wielding a large knife and threatened the clerk, however, the clerk was not injured. The man left with an undisclosed sum of money.

The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate the incident. Police are releasing a photograph of the suspect who is described as a white man in his late 20’s to early 30’s, 5'8”-5'9”, skinny to medium build and with scruffy facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a big light brown winter jacket with dark green pinstripes, grey jogging pants, sneakers and black gloves.
