Police warn public of violent sexual assault

Police are warning the public about a violent sexual assault that occurred on June 4 in Dartmouth.

Between 3-4 p.m. in a wooded area in the 300 block of Main Street, a man approached a 27-year-old woman from behind, spun her around and then proceeded to violently sexually assault her. The man, who was not known to the victim, was last seen walking towards Mount Edward Road.

The suspect is described as a black man with a light complexion, 6’ tall, 180 lbs with an average build, black hair, clean shaven face and a pierced ear. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black and white hat, white t-shirt, black pants and white running shoes.
