Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 (Halifax, NS) - The Halifax Regional Municipality is warning motorists to drive carefully this evening and on their morning commute tomorrow, and pay attention to changing weather conditions.

Rainfall will continue this evening and then change to periods of snow overnight, with total accumulations between 4-6 cm expected by morning. Please note that given the timing of the snowfall, motorists can expect the morning commute to be hampered by snow clearing operations and slippery roadway conditions.

Municipal and contracted crews will work at clearing priority routes overnight and will expand to secondary residential routes during the day tomorrow.

Sidewalk clearing is expected to begin before dawn and will progress throughout the day Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

Motorists are reminded to travel with care and allow more time to reach your destination.
