Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a section of Queen Street in Halifax will be temporarily closed to traffic on Monday, Sept. 8, and Tuesday, Sept. 9, to facilitate the installation of water and sewer pipes in the area.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday and again on Tuesday, Queen Street will be shut down between South Street and Kent Street.
The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and crews will accommodate local traffic and access to the Sobeys on Queen Street during the closures. Motorists should expect some delays and are strongly advised to use alternative routes, if possible. The street is expected to reopen at about 6 p.m. each day.
The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this closure or the installation work may cause.
