Thursday, July 10, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that work will begin the evening of Friday, July 11, to extend water and sewer mains up Rainnie Drive from Brunswick Street.

To accommodate the construction, Brunswick Street will be closed between Cogswell Street and Duke Street from 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, until 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. The street will not re-open overnight.

Detours will be in place during the closure. Motorists travelling east on Rainnie Drive (down the hill) will not be able to continue straight through the intersection onto Duke Street. Motorists travelling west on Duke Street (up the hill) will still be able to continue through the intersection onto Rainnie Drive.

Any work that needs to continue into Monday, July 14, on Brunswick Street will be restricted to the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Updates on traffic conditions and hours of work will be provided as the project progresses.

The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
