On November 24, at 1:15 a.m., an 18-year-old man reported to police that he had attended an apartment building on Abbey Road in Halifax to meet with a woman he knew. While he was waiting to be let into the building, two men came and approached him. One of the men was armed with what the victim believed was a handgun and the second man had some type of sensory irritant. They grabbed the victim, held the weapons towards him and relieved him of a quantity of cash and his cell phone before going back in to the building. The victim was not injured and left the area on foot. He contacted police a short time later. This is not believed to be a random incident as the suspects are believed to be associated with the woman the victim was there to visit.

Yesterday both male suspects, along with the woman involved in this incident, were arrested and a pellet gun believed to have been used in this offence was also recovered. An 18-year-old woman, along with a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old male youth, all from Halifax, are each facing weapons and robbery charges. They were held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
