On July 7 at 8:38 p.m, officers responded to a robbery call at the Smoke Shop at 287 Lacewood Drive in Halifax. A man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. He was given a sum of money and then left the store, got into a cab and left the area. Shortly after, the cab was located on the Bedford Highway near the Windsor Street Exchange. After a traffic stop, the 52-year-old man was taken into custody without incident. He was remanded and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday to face robbery charges.
