Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a series of streets in downtown Halifax will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Friday, Nov. 20, while crews install a watermain in the area.

The first closure goes into effect at 7 a.m. on Friday. Sackville Street will be closed between Grafton Street and Market Street, as well as Market Street from Prince Street to where the road ends at Grafton Street.

Much of that area will reopen at about 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, except for Market Street between Prince and Sackville. Prince Street will also shut down between Argyle Street and Brunswick Street and will remain closed until about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Pedestrians will continue to have access to the sidewalks in the area during these closures. Residents are advised that further rolling street closures in the area are anticipated over the next few weeks as installation of underground infrastructure continues.

Additional Public Service Announcements with specific locations and times will be communicated as available. The municipality regrets any inconvenience these closures may cause.
