Shooting Victim Dies in Hospital

The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation into last night's shooting after the victim passed away from his injuries.

At 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Officers learned that an altercation occurred in a backyard at that location that resulted in a man being shot several times. The victim was able to run to an address on Jackson Road where he took refuge in an apartment. He was transported to hospital by EHS where he passed away earlier this afternoon. The victim has been identified as 24-four-year-old Raymond Floyd Peters of Dartmouth.

The suspect, who fled on foot, is described as a black man in his twenties, 5’8”, medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.

The investigation is in its early stages and the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact police at 490-5020.
