The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section is currently investigating a shooting that took place this afternoon in Halifax.
At 2:15 p.m., police responded to a report of multiple shots being fired in the 6300 block of Quinpool Road. Responding officers stopped a vehicle on Quinpool Road near Robie Steet. One of the occupants was determined to be the victim from the shooting and he was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
At 2:48 p.m., a second vehicle was stopped in the area of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth. One person was taken into custody and second person fled the area on foot. Officers are currently searching for that person.
At this time, the investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released once it becomes available. Traffic along Quinpool Road may be affected while police continue their investigation. Motorists are advised that there may be some delays in that area.
