Halifax Shopping Centre has asked Halifax Regional Police to send this statement to ensure a wide distribution to the media and public. We are issuing it on their behalf:

Halifax Shopping Centre was notified early in the investigation as a potential venue for the alleged attack. Halifax Shopping Centre took immediate actions to assist Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP in the investigation where possible. The safety of our customers, tenants and employees is our number one priority. Halifax Shopping Centre Security staff receives ongoing crisis emergency, critical incidence awareness and active shooter training to prepare them for unfortunate situations such as alleged plots of violence planned by the individuals arrested. We work closely with Halifax Regional Police, who have an office onsite, and emergency response agencies in regards to any potential threats of violence received.
Halifax Shopping Centre is grateful to all police organizations involved for their quick and successful actions in apprehending these individuals. We continue to cooperate with Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP with regards to the ongoing investigation.
