Police are exploring the circumstances surrounding a sudden death that occurred early this morning in Halifax.
At approximately 3:20 a.m., officers responded to 1246 Lemarchant Street, a Dalhousie University Student Residence, to assist EHS with a medical-related emergency. A 19-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, there is no evidence to suggest foul play, however, it is early in the investigation and officers in the Forensic Identification Section are at the scene with the Medical Examiner's Office to explore the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
The woman has been identified but next of kin notification has yet to be made. The investigation is on-going.
