Suspect in Bank Break and Enter Arrested

A man sought for breaking into a Halifax bank was arrested last night.

On October 17, at 1:45 a.m., police responded to a call at the RBC Bank located at 5161 George Street where a glass partition separating the ATM and the bank had been broken. Officers reviewed video surveillance and a man was observed breaking the partition and entering the bank before leaving the same way. Yesterday afternoon, police released three pictures of the suspect and requested the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Last night, at 10:30 p.m., the suspect was arrested after he turned himself in at the Waycobah RCMP detachment. He was held in custody overnight at the Port Hawkesbury RCMP detachment and will be transported to Halifax today. Charges of break and enter are anticipated against the 26-year-old Whycocomagh man.
