On April 9 at approximately 11:09 p.m., police responded to a hit and run accident on Burnside Dr. and Wright Ave., Dartmouth. The vehicle involved was seen by police moments later on Wright Ave. with extensive front end damage. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed. Police later located the vehicle at a residence on Novawood Dr., Dartmouth where the driver was taken into custody.
Police also responded to an alarm which had come in at 11:09 p.m. at a business on Ilsley Ave., Dartmouth. Officers discovered a broken window and confirmed a break and enter had occurred. After investigation it was determined the driver of the vehicle had also been involved in the break and enter. A 40- year-old man from Dartmouth is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending.
