Suspicious circumstances

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who grabbed a child’s arm today in Halifax.  

At 11:50 a.m., an 11-year-old boy was walking to school and was passing through a pathway in the area of Fiske Street and Glenforest Drive when a man jogged up behind him and grabbed his arm. The boy told him to get away and tried to bite the man. The boy was able to get away and ran home and told his family what happened. They later reported the incident to police.  Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 

The suspect is described as a man of unknown ethnicity, approximately 5’9” with an average build and hair on his arms. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up. The man did not speak during the incident.

Investigators are asking the man who grabbed the boy or anyone else who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5020.
