Officers determined a suspicious package at Pier 21 contained personal belongings.
At approximately 11:32 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a call from Halifax Port Security about a suspicious bag on a bench in front of Pier 21. When officers arrived they determined the knapsack had been on the bench for a few hours.
Officers cordoned the area off and contacted the Halifax Regional Police Explosives Disposal Unit and a Halifax Regional Police explosives detection canine unit, these officers determined the package was not suspicious in nature and contained personal items.
