Theft of heavy machinery

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance to help determine who may be responsible for the theft of a piece of heavy machinery from a construction site near the corner of Market and Sackville Streets in Halifax.

 On October 27, police were called to investigate after workers discovered that a hammer drill that attaches to the crane was stolen. The drill’s approximate value is $40,000. The theft occurred sometime between Friday, October 24 at 5 p.m. and when construction workers returned to work on Monday at 8 a.m.

 The investigation continues and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + your message to 274637.
