Halifax Regional Police is alerting the public to a theft/suspicious person incident that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At 3:06 p.m. on October 25, officers responded to a theft not-in-progress/suspicious person call in the 6100 block of Allen Street. Earlier that day at approximately 12:30 p.m., a man went to a residence and asked a woman, who answered the door, for money. The 86-year-old woman gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and he then asked if he could use her washroom. Before she could answer him, he pushed past her and entered the residence. After he left, the woman noticed that some money was missing from her residence and she called a family member who then contacted police. The woman told the officers that the same man had been to her residence a few days prior asking for money, and believing him to be soliciting donations for a local charity, the woman gave him an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20’s, 130 lbs. and approximately 6’ tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing and red sneakers.
