Three pedestrian / vehicle collisions on March 20

14-38854 - On March 20, at 3:15 p.m., a 24-year-old woman was crossing Upper Water Street at Duke Street in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle travelling east on Duke Street turning left on Upper Water Street. The 62-year-old  male driver stopped and identified himself to the pedestrian, who was not injured. This incident was later reported to police by the pedestrian and is still under investigation.

14-38868 - On March 20, at  5:00 p.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Spring Garden Road and Brenton Street in Halifax. Traffic was heavy at the time and there was raining heavily. A 20-year-old woman was crossing Spring Garden Road in a marked crosswalk and was struck by a car driven by a 45-year-old woman travelling east on Spring Garden Road. The pedestrian was spun around and her foot was run over by the car. She was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver was issued a Summary Offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

14-38909 - On March 20, at 7:44 p.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Mount Edward Road in Dartmouth. A 40-year-old woman was crossing Woodlawn Road in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle travelling on Woodlawn Road, turning right on Woodlawn Road. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by EHS. The 39-year-old female driver was issued a Summary Offense Ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
