Traffic stop results in drug charges, West Division

On January 22, at 12:15 a.m. a west division patrol officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Joseph Howe Avenue and Scot Street.  A traffic stop was conducted and the member could smell marijuana from within the vehicle.  Two 21-year-old men were taken into custody without incident.  A quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.

One man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The second manwas also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breaching a recognizance. 

Both men remain in police custody and will appear in Halifax provincial court later today.
