A man has been arrested following the release of pictures showing a male suspect stealing flat screen televisions from a Halifax business this past January.

On January 15, at 6:30 p.m., a man entered the Atlantic Superstore located at 3601 Joseph Howe Drive. He took a 46” Sony Bravia flat screen TV and exited the store without paying.

On January 30, at 5 p.m., the man returned to the same store and took a 40” RCA flat screen TV without paying. This TV was recovered a short while later in the men’s washroom at Bowlarama, located at 3459 Desmond Avenue in Halifax.

On February 28, police released pictures of the suspect and asked for the public’s help identifying him. Several tips were received which led to the arrest of 30-year-old Brandon Kirk McLaughlin earlier today.

He is currently in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face three counts each of theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5000 and breach of court order.

Halifax Regional Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter.
