Twenty-five Firearms and a Quantity of Drugs Seized in Two Searches in Dartmouth

The Halifax Regional Police East Quick Response Unit, with the assistance of the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST), the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Section, West and Central Quick Response Units, Forensic Identification Section and Patrol members, seized twenty-five firearms and a quantity of drugs during two related searches in Dartmouth.

On Wednesday, December 5, Halifax Regional Police conducted a traffic stop on Lombardy Lane in Dartmouth. The driver, a 23-year-old Dartmouth man, was arrested in connection with a break and enter that occurred in Dartmouth in August 2012. As a result, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 0-100 block of Andover Street in Dartmouth. A quantity of marihuana, hash and drug paraphernalia, and a number of firearms (four hand guns and a long gun) were located. The man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

As a result of this search, a second search warrant was executed at a residence in the 0-100 block of Braeside Court in Dartmouth early this morning. As a result, a conductive energy device, 20 firearms (11 handguns and nine long guns) and a quantity of ammunition were seized. Two 29-year-old women face charges of possession of a prohibited device. Both women were released and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
