Two men face charges in connection with a serious assault that took place last night at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility (CNSCF).
Shortly before 9 p.m., a 37-year-old male inmate was assaulted by two other inmates inside the CNSCF. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, two suspects were arrested at the scene and remain in custody at the CNSCF.
A 22-year-old New Minas man and a 19-year-old Dartmouth man are charged with one count each of aggravated assault and breach of court order. They will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
