Two more people charged in robbery

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have arrested two additional people in connection with an armed robbery.

On January 10, at 11:35 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery-in-progress in the 0-100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. A 34-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were exiting an apartment building when they were approached by a man known to them. He produced a firearm and demanded cash from the woman and threatened her life. He fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. Neither victim was injured.

Thirty-eight-year-old Douglas David Saulnier of Dartmouth was arrested at a residence in the 0-100 block of Gaston Road in Dartmouth on January 13. He has been charged with robbery, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, use of a loaded prohibited firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and possession of a weapon obtained by crime. The weapon used in the offence was also recovered at that location and investigators have determined that it had been stolen from a Dartmouth residence in 2008. 

Based on the ongoing investigation, investigators determined that a second suspect was involved in this incident. On January 13, at 12:53 a.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Wyse Road in Dartmouth. They arrested the male driver, who is the second suspect in this robbery and a female passenger who is renting the apartment where the weapon was recovered.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Terrance Saulnier of Dartmouth was held in custody overnight. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, use of a loaded prohibited firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon contrary to court order and breach of probation.

Twenty-three-year-old Telicia Natalie Boutilier of Dartmouth was held in custody overnight. She will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.
