Two people were arrested this morning in connection with a theft of metal in Dartmouth.

At 9:35 a.m., police responded to a call of a theft of metal on Estates Road. The suspects left in a vehicle but a witness was able to follow them and provide information to police until officers were able to arrest the pair on Thornhill Drive. Investigators determined the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen last month. Stolen metal from two locations was recovered and returned to the owners.

Two men, aged 29 and 23, each face two counts of theft and three counts of possession of stolen property. Investigators expect that the men will be remanded tonight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
