Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Vice Unit have charged a man after an incident last night in Halifax.
At 1 a.m., police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the 0-100 block of St-Margaret’s Bay Road. Upon arrival, they located a 28-year-old man involved in a sexual act with a 15-year-old girl. The man was arrested at the scene and the young girl was transported to a safe location.
Twenty-eight-year-old Geoffrey Clarke Learmonth of Halifax was held in custody overnight. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and obtaining the sexual services of a person under the age of 18.
