UPDATE:
The 20-year-old male drowning victim was recovered from Penhorn Lake just before 9 a.m. this morning by the Integrated Underwater Recovery Team. His identity will not be released.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police along with Halifax Fire and EHS responded to Penhorn Lake at 70 Penhorn Drive in Dartmouth in relation to a man who had been swimming and went under water. The man did not resurface.
Halifax Fire deployed rescue boats but have since concluded their search of the lake for the evening. HRP officers remain on scene until the morning when a further search can be conducted by the Integrated Underwater Recovery Team.
