Update - Body of Missing Man Found

The body of an adult male was recovered from First Chain Lake this afternoon. It is believed to be the man who was reported missing last evening. Foul play is not suspected. Our thoughts are with the man’s family.

Halifax Regional Police responds to a report of a missing 46-year-old man in the area of First Chain Lake

Halifax Regional Police are currently on-scene with members of the Halifax Ground Search and Rescue  in the area of First Chain Lake which is bound by Highway 103, North West Arm Drive and St. Margaret’s Bay Road. 

At 6 p.m. last night, officers responded to a report of a possible missing 46-year-old Halifax man. He is a white man, approximately 5' 9" inches, 160 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. There is no clothing description available.  During the course of the investigation, officers received information that the man may have entered the woods near First Chain Lake.  Members of Ground Search and Rescue and Halifax Regional Police will remain on scene until the area is searched. 

At this time,  no other information is being released. The investigation will continue this morning with officers continuing to interview friends and family members.
